THIS IS IT
Thinking back to the first holy week, Jesus is now in Jerusalem. A LOT happens on Tuesday. Thursday night He is betrayed after the last supper by a friend whose feet he just washed. Friday morning He is crucified, and Sunday morning - the universe is transformed.
HOLY WEEK
Holy Week is the final week of Jesus' life and accounts for about 1/3 of the content of the gospels. This is THE central event of all history, and will be till He returns.
HOW TO CELEBRATE
This is a week to pause and remember. To let the death and resurrection of Jesus shape our thoughts and lives. Here are a few ways to to that:
Easter Week in Real Time: events broken down by day (Gospel Coalition)
Bible Project Easter and Holy Week (Tim Mackey & team)
Your Sorrow Will Turn to Joy Devotional (Piper & Desiring God)
Final Days of Jesus Devotional (Crossway)
Lent Devotional, scroll to week 7 (Keller & Redeemer Presbyterian)
Lent is soul formation through gospel rhythm: emptying self to be filled with God. Emptying of noise to hear His voice. Denying ourselves to take up our cross and follow Christ. Dying to live, believing by faith that whoever will lose their life for His sake - will find it. Jesus did this for us this final week of His earthly life. This is one way to join Him, and literally walk out our faith.
