  1. Relate: Last official life group of the year! What's one way God has encouraged or grown or helped you through this group?

  2. Text: Scan through 1 Cor 9:1-18. What stands out?

  3. V7, 11, 14: Biblical Responsibility: to pay ministers: What arguments does Paul offer for the rightness of a church supporting its ministers? Is this tithing? If not - what is it? (See the sandhurst podcast this week for a developed answer on this!)

  4. Have you ever directly supported a missionary - and why did you support them as opposed to the people they work among supporting them?

  5. V12b-15: Missional Responsibility: to remove barriers: Paul repeats his point about a minister's support, then lays it down - why does he do this?

  6. What barriers might people have to the gospel in Florence, and how can we remove them?

  7. V16-18: Personal Transformation: value the gospel above all: The gospel transforms Paul's longings and hopes. How can we be truly transformed from the inside out? What Bible passages or habits have served your personal transformation and Christian growth?

  8. Paul lays down his rights for the sake of others. When has someone done that for you, and how did it impact you?

  9. Growth: What is a key application you take from this passage?
