On Wednesday at 6pm, we will have KidsOnMission! Dinner is $3 for individual kids with a $7 max for families. Here is some of the key information:
Kids choir is at 5:15pm This great opportunity for kids to learn music, teamwork, and about worshiping Jesus together through singing will be back next week.
KidsOnMission officially starts at 6pm with pizza this week and then a fun time of learning from the Word. Specifically, Wednesday nights help kids see the Bible and mission in context. We want them to understand what it means to go with God’s Word into God’s world.
We will be focusing on the parable of the sower (Matthew 13:1-23; Mark 4:1-20; Luke 8:4-15). Our missions-focus continues on how God uses Christians to meet needs in the wake of disaster.
On Sunday, there are exciting things happening as well!
At 9am, there is Sunday School. We devote this time to helping our kids get into the Word in age-appropriate ways. They not only hear the Bible taught, but they also get a chance to look into it for themselves. This becomes more and more of a personal skill as they grow older. There is also a 9am Sandhurst U class about parenting that is happening this semester. Jump in!
During the Gathering, the preschoolers will continue moving through the The Beginner’s Gospel Story Bible. We are looking at Story 7: Jacob Has a Dream, which highlights important elements from Genesis 28:10-22; John 1:51. And the elementary students will dig into Philippians 1:1-2. Questions for Families to Discuss (before/after Sunday):
God gives his people something that lasts longer than fun: joy! What is joy?
In Philippians, Paul was writing to a group of believers that meant a lot to him. And Jacob was reminded of God's promise to bring lots of people into his family. Why did God give us the other believers in the church instead of telling us to follow Him alone? Why is it good that we have each other?
Those who trust in Jesus will have joy (and fun!) in eternal life. And, everyone who trusts in Jesus will be there. Have you put your trust in Jesus? What about your family and friends?
Family Prayer Prompt: Lord, thank you for all the joy that comes from knowing you! And thank you that you have given us other people to help us follow you. Help us to encourage other believers and to share the Good News with those who don’t know you. We want everyone to have the joy that comes from being in your family!
