God Created People – Genesis 2
This passage is so ENCOURAGING!!! It is good to remind ourselves of the care God used to create people; to remember that we are created in the image of God, so each one of us reflects something of the character of God to the world; to remind ourselves that work was given BEFORE the fall and that work is good; to remember that it wasn’t good for man to be alone, and it’s not good for us to be alone either - we need other people! Enjoy celebrating the uniqueness of every person in your family!! Invite your kids to find delight in the relationship God offers us!
1. REVIEW THE STORY
Activity - Fingerprint Art - remind kids that God specially created each one of them. No two of them are the same - not even their fingerprints. Show them how to make fingerprints and how to turn their fingerprints into artwork. See this link if you need ideas: https://www.easypeasyandfun.com/fingerprint-alphabet-art/. As kids experiment with fingerprint art, read Psalm 139:13-16 and discuss questions below.

What did you learn about God today? (People are special to God; God loves people and gives them good things; God gives people work to do; God gives people choices about whether to obey or not; God doesn’t always tell people things - sometimes He lets people discover things, just as He led Adam to discover that He needed a helper; God was the one who invented families)
What did you learn about people from this passage? (People were made in God’s image, meaning they are like God in many ways: they feel; they love; they are creative; they are relational; they have a spirit; they appreciate beauty; they have choices)
What did you learn about yourself? (I am valuable because God made me and loves me).
