Premarital Mentoring

The quality of your marriage will largely determine the quality of your life.

Start right, starting here.

We rejoice with you! And while deep love feels natural and instinctual to most engaged couples, that life and love is sustained by hard work. Solid, healthy, life-giving marriages do not happen as the automatic next step of a crush, or simply by “picking the right person” (though a good choice helps immensely!). Strong and satisfying marriages are cultivated with study, effort, and mutual commitment. We are here to help.

Congratulations!

What We Do

We pair an engaged or nearly engaged couple with a mentor couple who take you through 8 sessions based on the Scriptures, and using the Preparing for Marriage workbook. The study involves reflection questions and conversation prompts that build your understanding of what marriage is, where you are as individuals (i.e, what you each bring), and where you’re going as a couple.

What To Expect

Here’s what we hope you’ll experience and take away:

  • Understanding marriage - what it is and how it works

  • Understanding yourselves - considering your past, crafting your future

  • Developing skills in communication, understanding and conflict resolution

  • Warnings of potentially divisive issues with personalized strategies on how to manage them together, including money, sex, roles, parenting, jobs, fitness, priorities, etc.

  • Strategies for celebrating the blessings of your marriage; including parenting, extended family, dates, anniversaries, getaways, etc.

  • A guide for long-term growth and health
