Guidelines for Listeners/Scripture Memorization
- Clubber must be able to recite the verse and the address
- Slight deviations from the verse are acceptable. For example, if the clubber says, “In the beginning God made the heavens and the earth” instead of created, that is acceptable. Older clubbers should be held to a higher standard than younger ones.
- Clubbers are allowed two minor helps (hints) per section. This is usually one or two words of a verse, or the name of the Bible book, chapter, or verse. If the Clubber needs more than two helps to complete a section, they should be directed to re-study the section and attempt it again at a later time.
- When reciting the verses in a section, the Clubber may refer to their handbook one time. If they do, they must start over at the beginning of the section.
- If the Clubber requests to refer to their handbook a second time when attempting to complete a section, instruct them to return to the classroom for additional study.
